In Rubirizi District, a 23-year-old man has been apprehended by the police on charges of aggravated robbery. Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi police, identified the suspect as Tusingwire Cilli, a 23-year-old peasant residing in Katerera 1 cell, Katerera ward, Rubirizi District.
According to Tumusiime, the alleged incident took place on 13/12/2023 at Nyabushabe cell, Mwongyera Parish, Katerera Sub county in Rubirizi District. Turyamusiima Naboth reported to Katerera Police Station that his motorcycle, with registration number UFG 492Q Bajaj Boxer, was robbed in an aggravated manner. The victim, Nuwamanya Mwanje, was reportedly struck on the head with a sharp object, rendering him unconscious. Mwanje was later taken to Rugazi Health Center IV for medical treatment.
Tumusiime further mentioned that, with the assistance of a team of boda boda riders, the police conducted an operation leading to the arrest of the suspect in Kikonjo cell, Katerera town Council. Additionally, the stolen motorcycle was successfully recovered from the suspect.
