The ordinands and their spouses from North Kigezi Diocese on Wednesday started their spiritual retreat at Hotel Riverside-Rukungiri municipality to prepare them for the ordination which will take place on Sunday 28th May 2023
The retreat meant to prepare them for the ministry, was officially opened by the Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe the diocesan bishop accompanied by Maama Florence Asiimwe.
In his opening remarks, Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe referred to the ordinands as “blessed servants of God for they are going to be his “firstborns”, as this will be his maiden ordination service to officiate since his enthronement.
He, therefore, urged the ordinands to make God’s work first in all they plan to do referring to Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Bishop Asiimwe advised them to use the time of the retreat to reflect on their call but not for the honeymoon.
