The development observed in Kakanju sub-county, Bushenyi District, has been credited to the recently completed Warigo water project, according to Lauben Kananga, a local official. Kananga highlighted that the project has generated employment opportunities for the community and led to a rise in commodity prices.

Additionally, he noted an increase in rental rates and overall improvement in the well-being of the populace.

Kananga mentioned that as part of their corporate social responsibility, the project contractors are committed to constructing buildings at three primary schools: Rwanshesya, Nyanga, and Nyakabingo.

Julius Agaaba, the chairman of Nyakabingo village, emphasized that the project’s extension of electricity will enhance the area’s appeal for potential factories and bolster income opportunities. He also noted the project’s contribution to expanding the electricity and road networks in the villages, facilitating the transportation of goods and services to urban centers.

Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha, the Managing Director of NWSC, stated that the organization will collaborate with local leaders to ensure the extension of water services to rural communities.
