The Bishop of the North Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe has officially installed Ven. Dickens Baguma as the Archdeacon of Nyakisoroza Church of Uganda Archdeaconry in Nyakishenyi Sub-County, Rukungiri District.
The installation ceremony took place at the Nyakisoroza Archdeaconry Centre and was attended by all North Kigezi Diocese archdeacons, Christians, and government and political leaders.
During the service, Bishop Asiimwe emphasized the importance of respecting religious leaders in Christian life. He urged Ven. Baguma to be humble and serve God’s flock faithfully during his leadership at the Archdeaconry by cooperating with the Christians under him. He also encouraged Ven. Baguma to remain faithful to God and the church by preaching the gospel of restoring hope and faith to the Christians.
Hon. Naboth Namanya, the MP for Rubabo County who attended the ceremony, welcomed the new Archdeacon Baguma and wished him well. He also urged the Christians to continue praying for the country amidst the increasing corruption, expressing gratitude that he is not among the members of parliament currently wanted by the police due to corruption issues.
The ceremony was graced by important figures such as the Commissioner General of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija, Canon Benon Magulu, the North Kigezi Diocesan Chancellor, and Wednesday Twinomujuni, the Nyakishenyi Sub-County Chairperson, among others.
Ven. Dickens Baguma replaced Ven. Nathan Tigakanya, who recently retired after reaching the retirement age. Hundreds of faithful Christians turned up to witness this significant event.
