Ketty Muhwezi Ndindigwe, the former Mother’s Union coordinator for North Kigezi Diocese, emphasized the importance of unity among Christians, especially married couples. She highlighted four essential ideals for a happy family: respect, communication, intimacy, and financial support.
During a one-day workshop called “Becoming One,” attended by 30 couples (totaling 60 individuals) at the Canon Beatrice Training Center in Kinyasano, Muhwezi urged participants to cultivate pure hearts filled with love and forgiveness. She stressed the significance of respecting each other, fostering open communication, nurturing intimacy, and working towards shared financial goals.
Muhwezi emphasized that love, reconciliation, and forgiveness are fundamental pillars of true Christianity. She encouraged families to distance themselves from anger and violence, instead advocating for collaborative efforts to promote peace among God’s people.
Mihigo Samson, a trainer from All Saints Church, underscored the importance of prayer in expressing feelings and needs to God. He urged couples to prioritize faithfulness and mutual forgiveness, essential for maintaining peace within their families.
Judith Kamusiime, chairperson of the “Becoming One” family group from Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, explained that the group aims to equip couples with knowledge for building happy and successful families grounded in faith. She emphasized the importance of protecting youths from sexual offenses and promoting peace within families through daily prayer.
Kasigazi Guard, a member of the “Becoming One” group, praised the trainers for their valuable lessons and expressed gratitude for the positive impact on his family’s communication. He encouraged other couples to join the group and experience similar transformations in their families.
