Police in Rukungiri is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified male adult.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman, some minors were on 19/07/2022 at around 5:30PM grazing along Birara river at Kangabo area in Rubabo B Village Nyabushenyi Parish, Nyarushanje sub county Rukungiri district when they discovered a body of a male adult floating on River Birara.
They informed the area Chairperson local council one who alerted the Police at Rubabo Police station and CPS Rukungiri was accordingly notified.
Scene was visited and documented by the District CID officer and team, the naked decomposing body was retrieved and conveyed to Rwakabengo health center III for Postmortem to ascertain the actual cause of the death.
Maate called on members of the public who could be missing a relative to visit the health centre mortuary so that the body is identified and taken for burial.
