Police in Rwizi Region through the flying squad unit has tracked and apprehended two suspected motorcycle thieves.
ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police mouthpiece confirmed the matter and identified the Suspects as Twakire Ivan,29 years a businessman and a Resident of Nsambya Makindye Division in Kampala- and Turyamuhoona Darius 29 years a driver and a Resident of Ibanda district.
Kasasira says the two were arrested on two counts of murder and aggravated robbery of Ronald Nareeba whom they killed along Mbarara-Bushenyi Road in Kihumuro before making away with his motorcycle Registration number UEF491S Bajaj Boxer Red in Color robbed on 8th.july.2022 which has not been recovered to date.
He adds that during the same operation two motorcycles were recovered under the same Registration number plate UFK393P , Engine serial number MD2A18AJ3MWA88792 same color though different Number plate serial numbers which are 1885741-2 and 2004085-6 which are yet to be verified by Uganda Revenue Authority.
Kasasira further says that the two Suspects are part of a bigger racket involved in motorcycle theft and moving them across the boarders which are being tracked by police.
He is now appealing to the general public to be vigilant and take personal security serious to avoid being taken advantage of by thugs.
