Police in Sheema District have arrested one person and are actively searching for another in connection with the murder of a 68-year-old man.
The incident occurred on 09/03/2025 at around 12:00 PM in Nyamwambo Cell, Kasana Sub County, Sheema District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the suspects as Fred Murangira, 38, and Obed Bariho, both residents of the area.
The deceased, Patrick Kanwa, 68, a peasant from Nyakibere 2 Cell, Kasana Sub County, Sheema District, was reportedly involved in an extramarital affair with Ketra Manywoha, the wife of Murangira.
It is alleged that Murangira had repeatedly warned Kanwa to end the affair, but the deceased continued to meet with Manywoha. On the fateful night, the deceased went to meet Manywoha as usual, and the two suspects reportedly attacked and beat him to death.
Murangira fled the scene after the incident, while Bariho was arrested and is currently in police custody for further investigation.
