In a cordial handover ceremony held at the Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council Hall, Mr. Robert Nuwamanya officially assumed office as the new Town Clerk, taking over from Mr. Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu, who now heads to serve at Ntungamo Municipal Council.
The event was marked by a sense of optimism and collaboration, and was attended by key dignitaries, including the RDCs and Mayors of both Bushenyi and Rukungiri Municipal Councils.
In his speech, Mr. Nuwamanya expressed gratitude to the staff of Rukungiri Municipal Council, where he previously served, and thanked the leadership and staff of Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council for the warm and gracious welcome.
“I’m humbled by the hospitality and look forward to serving the people of Ishaka Bushenyi with dedication and openness,” Mr. Nuwamanya stated. “I believe in teamwork, and it is through unity and collaboration that we can achieve tangible progress, just as we did in Rukungiri.”
Mr. Nuwamanya pledged to build on the strong foundation laid by his predecessor, highlighting the importance of continuity and innovation in municipal management.
Outgoing Town Clerk Mr. Mukobi Seleverio Byarufu commended the staff and leadership of Ishaka Bushenyi for their professionalism and dedication during his tenure. He noted that the incoming Town Clerk is stepping into a well-organized institution, with clean records, improved local revenue collection, and strong preparation for ongoing programs like the UCMID.
“This Council has changed my life,” Mukobi remarked emotionally. “Mr. Nuwamanya is coming into a stable environment — with systems in place, debts managed, and teams ready to deliver.”
His Worship the Mayor of Ishaka Bushenyi Municipal Council, Mr. Byaruhanga Richard, officially welcomed Mr. Nuwamanya and urged him to prioritize service delivery and integrity.
“Work with commitment and let salary be secondary. You have our political support where needed, and our door remains open for guidance and partnership,” said the Mayor.
