At the colorful introduction ceremony of Miss Ainembabazi Prossy, daughter to Eng. Katungye Johnson of Bugangari, held at Heritage Country Club, Honorable Tinkasiimire Banarbus of Buyaga West constituency, Kagadi District reiterated his stance against President Museveni’s move to have his son Muhozi Kainerugabe succeed him.
Tinkasiimire, alongside Honorable Wilfred Niwagaba and Honorable Ssekikubo, who have collectively served in Parliament for several terms, expressed their opposition to the idea of Museveni ruling Uganda for nearly 50 years and then handing over power to his son, who currently serves as the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF).
Speaking at the event, Honorable Tinkasiimire used the platform to endorse Honorable Elisa Rutahigwa for another term, praising him as a dedicated representative of his constituents in Parliament. Additionally, he urged the attendees to throw their support behind Honorable Marry Paula in the upcoming District Woman Parliamentary elections, citing her hardworking nature.
During his address, Tinkasiimire outlined the four key roles of a Member of Parliament, emphasizing their oversight function, involvement in budgeting and appropriation processes, and the importance of representing the views of the people in Parliament.
