Police in Ntungamo district has initiated investigations into which a man torched his house killing his wife Kobusingye Joventa 58 and two grandchildren.
The suspect has been identified as Tibenderana aged 66 years a resident of Katunguru cell, Katomi ward, Nyamunuka town council Ntungamo district.
The incident happened on Wednesday at 11:00 PM when Tibenderana returned from the bar and started accusing the wife of denying him to sell their remaining land.
In the process, he got the matchbox and torched the house using petrol killing the wife and two grandchildren identified as Nabilyo Amina 6, and Nangobi Hassanat 8. The third child Nanteza Linet 7sustained injuries and was rushed to the nearby clinic where she is receiving treatment.
According to the eyewitness, on Saturday Tibenderana tried to hack the wife but the woman managed to escape unhurt until last night when she was killed in an arson attack.
By the time of this story, Tibenderana was in the hands of police and investigations had already started to ascertain the cause of the fire.
