The Area Member of Parliament Mbarara City Ritah Atukwasa Bwahiika has launched a village saving group in Mbarara City South as one way of eradicating poverty at the village level.

While launching the project at Rwakishakizi C.O.U in Rwakishakizi ward Nyakayojo Hon Atukwasa noted that they are going to give out one million to each village as a startup.

She called up the leaders to monitor this project such that it fulfills its intention.

The Mbarara city south mayor JomoMugabi noted that this project will give people the opportunities to manage their resources and learn how to save their money.

Priscah Mulongo Muganzi the deputy mayor asked beneficiaries to utilize it very well to generate school fees for their children and increase household income.
