The Bushenyi District chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba has warned technocrats within the district on misuse of funds as the government is planning to give districts and municipalities 1 billion each to work on roads.
Basajjabalaba said it’s becoming a habit for technocrats to swindle money meant for roads and other projects.
The warning comes at a time when the government is planning to give out one billion to each district and municipality.
He said many roads are impassable due to lack of funds to work on them saying since the government is earmarking funds to work on roads, there is a need to utilize the funds effectively.
However, Adam Banyezaki the Bushenyi Ishaka municipality engineer said they are lacking equipment to work on the roads in the municipality.
He said the district and municipality are using one grader which makes it difficult to work on the roads in time.
