The victim, identified as Alistidia Ampereza, a 39-year-old teacher, was found deceased at Makiro Health Centre III in Kanungu District.
According to reports, the incident occurred on the evening of February 29th, 2024, when Ampereza returned home and found her stepdaughter, Doreen Naturinda, peeling matooke in the kitchen. An altercation ensued, during which Ampereza complained of severe stomach pain after vomiting. She requested charcoal powder from her brother-in-law, Blessing Tugumisirize, instructing him not to inform anyone about her illness.
