Police in Rubanda on Monday registered a fatal accident that claimed the life of a teacher.
The deceased is Tugumisiriza Ivan 32 years, a primary school teacher, resident of Kabugu village, Bushura ward, Hamuhambo T/council in Rubanda district.
According to Elly Mate the Kigezi region police mouthpiece, It’s alleged that two Bajaj motorcycles whose details were not yet identified as they were taken away from the scene before police arrived, while were from opposite directions along Hamuhambo- Bushura Marram road, met in a sharp corner and collided head-on thereby injuring the occupants seriously.
The deceased was picked from the scene by good samaritans and rushed to Kabale Hospital by good samaritans but succumbed to injuries on the way.
The body was conveyed to the same hospital from where a postmortem was done and later handed over to the relative.
Police were alerted, and the scene was visited, and documented by Sargent Bafende O/c Bunyonyi police post
Efforts to recover both motorcycles involved and get details of other victims and their whereabouts to help police in investigations are underway.
