Residents of Nyakatembe A Cell, Kikarara Parish, Bwambara Sub County, Rukungiri District, and police from Kikarara Police Post are currently guarding the body of Lilian Mackline Kembabazi, awaiting guidance from the homicide police at Rukungiri Central Police Station.

Lilian Mackline Kembabazi, 38 years old, is believed to have died as a result of a fight with her husband, Saturday George.

On the day of her death, Lilian attended a beer party at Omukashenyi Trading Center, where she had a disagreement with a family acquaintance identified only as Ronah. This led to her husband, Saturday George, intervening and forcibly taking her home.

Despite her refusal, her husband forcibly escorted her home, which led to a confrontation around 8:30 PM. Lilian’s biological relatives, who live nearby, intervened and took her to their home. Unfortunately, she developed complications and passed away before she could be taken to the hospital at around 10 PM.

Lilian’s father, Petero Murera, commonly known as Makanda, stated that she had no chronic illnesses and attributed her death to the fight.

Scovia Katusiime, the Bwambara Sub County Councilor representing Kikarara Parish, noted that while residents suspect the fight contributed to her death, they are awaiting the results of the postmortem for confirmation.
