The police in Rukungiri district are holding Medard Musinguzi, a resident of Kanungu district over allegations of kidnapping a 3-year-old boy and demanding a ransom of Shs 4.5m.
It is alleged that Musinguzi kidnapped the child from Nyabushenyi parish Nyarushaje sub-county Rukungiri District where he was working
Musinguzi allegedly kept demanding the sh 4.5 m ransom using phone calls and messages.
Alex Akunda and Shallon Katwesigye both residents of Omukashanda Nyabushenyi Nyarushaje sub county Rukungiri district explain that when their 3-year-old baby boy Alone Atukunda was kidnapped, they received calls from Medard Musinguzi who was demanding Shs 4.5 million to return their baby.
Michael Tumusiime the Nyarushaje sub-county LC3 chairperson called upon residents to enhance the security of their families and always employ maids who have all the documents that define their status
The Rukungiri District police commander Musa Tibakirana says that Musinguzi was arrested yesterday and the case is registered at Rukungiri police under Ref no CRB204/2023 as investigations are ongoing.
In another incident, Nimusima Rinnah aged 14 who was a P6 pupil at Kashenyi primary school is missing.
Ninsiima,a daughter of Tusingwire Vasta Rurindana of Rwamugoma Ruhinda sub-county Rukungiri District went missing on 7th January, 2023 at around 7:30 AM.
Tusingwire the mother of the missing girl told our reporter that her woke up early in the morning ,moved outside the house, and has not been seen since then
