The Nyakishenyi Catholic Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ambrose Mugisha has implored students to remember where they come from and remain focused on their studies other than joining peer groups that would ruin their future.

Rev. Fr. Ambrose Mugisha pointed this out while leading a Holy mass at Nyakishenyi Brain Trust Secondary School in Nyakishenyi sub-county in Rukungiri District on Thursday.

He charged the learners to look back at what their parents are going through to provide for them and then have a reason to fulfill their obligation at School.

According to him, it’s so unfortunate that some students are from very poor families that can’t afford over a single meal per day but are normally the ones leading others in demanding things that are uncalled for and strikes in schools.

The director Nyakishenyi Brain Trust Secondary School Alex Kukundakwe hailed the priest for sparing time to pray for them pledging to keep up the spirit of grooming  God-fearing students for the benefit of the community and country at large.

Kukundakwe noted that since the school opened in  2018  with only 29 students, they have never taken any step back to the current enrollment of over 200 learners.

The Nyakishenyi sub-county Chairperson Wednesday Twinomujuni who also attended the special mass promised to support the school in different ways since it provides quality education in the areas hence asking students to focus on books.

The Inspector of Schools in charge of Rubabo County Amos Nyesigire asked local leaders to always visit schools in their areas to assess the problems they face and how they can work together to solve them for their children to get a better education.
