Students at Rwabukoba Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub-county, Rukungiri District, have been encouraged to remain committed to their education, regardless of the financial struggles their families may be facing.

The call was made by Derrick Turyamwijuka, an employee of Stanbic Bank, while officiating at the school’s farewell party for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates. Turyamwijuka shared his personal experience of overcoming school fees challenges, encouraging students to remain focused and resilient, noting that education remains the key to future success.

The ceremony also featured spiritual guidance from Rev. Johnson Kamunini of Rwabukoba Church of Uganda Parish, who urged students to hold onto the teachings of wisdom and avoid destructive behaviors that may derail their progress.

Addressing the gathering, the head teacher of Rwabukoba Secondary School, Sabiiti Erick, confirmed that the academic curriculum for both O-Level and A-Level candidates had been successfully completed. He advised students to uphold school regulations and maintain discipline, warning against misinterpreting the farewell function as a license for misconduct.

Form Six candidate Atuhaire Memory expressed appreciation for the supportive learning environment and quality instruction offered at the school. She reaffirmed her commitment to achieving academic success.

A total of 50 students have been registered to sit for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), while 115 will sit for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE).
