The Bukimbiri county Member of Parliament, Hon. Eddie Kwizera Wagahungu has asked security heads in Kisoro district to avoid sympathizing with criminals while executing their duties.
The legislator’s remarks were made on Friday, July 14th, 2023 while gracing the launching ceremony of the Bukimbiri United Boda Boda operators association as a guest of honor at Rubuguri playground in Rubuguri town council.
According to Hon. Kwizera, the recent impunity faced by Boda Boda riders attached to the Bukimbiri united Boda Boda association has been due to the failure of the RDC and DPC who always sympathize with KUBO leadership yet they are always in the wrong.
He warned that any attack on lawfully operating Bukimbiri Boda Boda riders is an attack on him as the area MP added that the security heads risk being transferred if they keep a deaf ear.
He asked the Boda Boda riders of Bukimbiri to keep discipline and avoid being elements of criminality if he must keep supporting them.
He advised KUBO leadership to register their association so that it becomes the second legally accepted Boda Boda association in the district.
However, The Bukimbiri United Boda Boda Operators (BUBO) chairperson Robert noted that the organization is developing from grass root Boda Boda stages but only faces the challenge of being harassed by KUBO leadership.
