Dr. Stanely Bubikire has been installed as the District Governor for the Lions District 411B Uganda, replacing the former Teso affairs Minister Christine Amongin Aporu.
Dr Bubikire who 2022 served at the Ministry of Health as a commissioner before retiring, was installed in Boston USA on July 12. He is from the Lions Club of Entebbe.
The Lions in Uganda organized a Dinner to celebrate his installation and homecoming on Friday at Silver Springs Hotel Bugolobi Kampala.
Dr. Bubikire said he will focus on key Lions areas of vision, environment, and diabetes to change the world.
He will serve for one year in leadership a period that started on July 1, 2023, and shall end his reign on the same date next year. He will be the leader of over 50 Lions clubs in the country with over 1000 members from all corners of the country.
Upon his retirement, he will be replaced by Mr Benon Kataate of the Lions Club of Mbarara who will be replaced by Ms Allen Tush Naturinda. The three were elected in Arusha in April this year.
Lions is the world’s largest service organization with membership across 206 countries of the world. The Lions Foundation, Lions clubs international started in 1917 in Chicago USA, and has for years championed many causes including peace development being the only non-state organization that participated in writing the UN Charter in 1945.
