Pioneer candidates at St. Joseph’s Vocational Secondary School in Nyakajeme Subcounty, Rukungiri District, are celebrating outstanding results in the 2025 Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) Examinations.
The school, which introduced Advanced Level studies in 2023, saw its first batch of candidates sit for the UACE exams this year. Among the 56 students who sat the exams, one student achieved an impressive 19 points.
School headteacher Madam Kemigisha Mary Mariat expressed gratitude to God for the excellent results and credited the achievement to careful preparation by both teachers and students. She also commended the parents for entrusting their children to the school, describing the performance as a remarkable achievement for a pioneering class.
Meanwhile, Immaculate Heart Girls School in Nyakibale also posted stellar results in the 2025 UACE examinations. Out of 356 candidates, three students scored 20 points, eight students scored 19 points, and 17 students scored 18 points.
Speaking to reporters, Headteacher Sr. Sabina Tumusiime attributed the success to divine grace, teachers’ dedication, and the students’ hard work. She thanked all stakeholders, including students, staff, the Board of Governors, and alumni, for their support and encouragement that motivates students to excel.
St. Gerald’s Secondary School, also in Nyakibale, recorded improved results compared to 2024. Of the 48 candidates who sat the exams, two students scored 15 points, marking a slight improvement from the previous year.
The results reflect a growing trend of academic excellence in Rukungiri District, with schools continuing to prioritize preparation, dedication, and holistic support for their students.
