The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni has today Saturday, joined the bishops, clergy, high profile people ,family and friends to celebrate the 25th marriage anniversary of the Bishop South Ankole Diocese, the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe and his wife Maama Lillian Ahimbisibwe.
Addressing the guests at the function held at Kyamate SS play ground Ntungamo Municipality, first lady Janet Kataaha Museveni said that it has been the grace of God to celebrate the silver jubilee since Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe exchanged marriage vows with Maama Lillian 25 years ago.
The first lady urged the public to build the strong families on God’s rock if they are to last for centuries telling the Bishop that let the 25 years be a foundation to many years in marriage.
However, she acknowledged that the family is under attack by the Western culture aimed at endangering the human race but asked Ugandans to trust in God and shun such acts.
The minister Janet Museveni hailed Bishop Ahimbisibwe for the commendable work done towards the development of the diocese spiritually and physically.
Delivering the message of the archbishop church of Uganda His Grace Dr Stephen Kazimba Mugalu , Rt Rev Dr Fred Sheldon Mwesigwa the Ankole Diocesan Bishop commended the First Lady Janet for creating time to celebrate with Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe and Maama Lillian.
Bishop Sheldon Mwesigwa appealed to the married couples to desist from the tendency of hiding family riches from each other but rather cooperate and have a joint account for the development of their families.
He noted that there has been increasing fallacy where most women work independently to sustain themselves because they are doubtful that they may not stay longer in marriage thus leading to family breakdown.
He praised Bishop Ahimbisibwe for preaching gospel for both spiritual and economic growth to the Christians of South Ankole Diocese.
The Bishop South Ankole Diocese the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe and Maama Lillian praised God for protecting them in 25 years of marriage with 6 children including a set of twins.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe thanked the president and the first lady for being supportive towards the development of the diocese and the completion of his residence in Nyakaina Rukindo Ntungamo Municipality.
He commended the people of South Ankole Diocese, the Archbishop and Bishops for the love and support that made their anniversary successful.
Bishop Ahimbisibwe and Maama Lillian pledged to keep their faith in God and to love each other until death do them apart.
The Diocesan head of laity Dr Bildard Baguma commended the Bishop Ahimbisibwe for being humble, generous and available for all Christians without discrimination.
Later, Bishop Ahimbisibwe and Maama Lillian took their guest to a luncheon at their home which was commissioned by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataaha Museveni in Nyakaina Rukindo Ntungamo Municipality.
