The Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisimbwe, has called upon Christians to embrace unity and peace as the country heads into the forthcoming elections.

The Bishop made the remarks in his Christmas message as Christians around the world celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior.

Bishop Ahimbisimbwe warned that political differences could breed enmity and wrangles among families and friends, noting that such divisions do not align with God’s word, especially during the Christmas season, which calls for love, peace, and reconciliation.

He further encouraged Christians to use the Christmas festival as an opportunity to draw closer to God, emphasizing that a strong relationship with God leads to success in all life’s endeavors.

The Bishop urged believers to welcome the birth of Jesus Christ into their hearts by accepting Him as their personal Savior, noting that whoever receives Christ can never regret the decision.

Rt. Rev. Ahimbisimbwe also reminded Christians not to grow weary of doing good, saying this aligns with the Diocese’s theme for the year.

Additionally, the Bishop advised Christians to spend wisely during the festive season and remain accountable, citing the upcoming first term of 2026, which will require parents and guardians to meet school fees, scholastic materials, and other household necessities.
