Thousands of mourners yesterday gathered at Bunyarigi , Central Division Bushenyi Municipality for the sendoff of six members of one who Perished on Saturday in a gruesome road accident at Kyalusowe swamp along the Kampala Masaka highway.
The deceased were laid to rest at their ancestral home in an extremely somber ceremony led by the Parish priest at Kitabi catholic parish.
The deceased included Police Constable (PC) Cleopus Bwesigye ,Silomena Nyagoma 3 years,Falestine Nyakato 3 years,Darliton Kiza 1 year,Maria Gorreti Kemigisha a female adult and Chrispus Twesigye 31 years ,
The deceased were were on Saturday morning traveling to Kampala side when their car, a Toyota Wish, collided with an oncoming FUSO truck at Kyalusowe Swamp along the Kampala-Masaka High way around 4:30 Am in the morning.
Addressing mourners, Nesta Muhwezi the father of the deceased noted that his family had 11 members but they have now only 6 members and asked people to pray for his family.
He however rejected rumors that his family perished in the deadly accident due to witchcraft.
Jaffari Bassajabalaba the Bushenyi district lc5 boss warned members of families with family cars to stop boarding one vehicle when they are to travel noting that if deceased had boarded different cars they would not have died at once.
Annet Mugisha Katusiime the woman member of parliament Bushenyi district urged mourners to always be extra careful while on road and further challenged traffic police to ensure road safety sensitisation meetings with road users
