Police in Bushenyi District are investigating circumstances under which a 72-year-old woman hanged herself for unknown reasons.
Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesparson has identified the deceased as Yosefinah Kekitambi 72, a peasant and a resident of Nyakashebeya Cell, Mashonga ward Kyamuhunga Town Council, Bushenyi district.
It is alleged that on 15th September 2023 at around 11:00 pm Joanita Twongirwe while she was cooking came to the main house and found her grandmother hanging on a cloth in her sitting room.
The incident happened after the deceased had an accident and she complained that she had gotten tired of taking drugs and injections as she said that she needed to rest from the pain and suffering.
Tumusiime said the body was found hanging in the sitting room on a cloth red in color and her neck tied to the timber on the roof.
The body was taken to Kitagata Hospital in Sheema district for post-mortem as inquiries are at hand.
