Police in Bushenyi District are investigating an accident involving a senior citizen that occurred in Kajurugo, Central Division of Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality along the Bushenyi-Kasese Road.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, which involved a red Bajaj motorcycle with registration number UFC 069H and a silver Toyota Succeed with registration number UBP 086G.
The victim, identified as Rugimukamu Njoki John, an educationist, was driving the Toyota Succeed from Ishaka to Mbarara when the accident occurred. He collided with the motorcycle, which was traveling in the opposite direction, as he swerved to the right to avoid a pothole on his side.
According to the police, both victims were rushed to unspecified medical centers for treatment by good Samaritans. Both vehicles have been towed and are currently parked at Ishaka Police Station.
