A scuffle broke out today between Kabale Municipality Mayor, Emmanuel Sentaro Byamugisha, and Kabale District Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC), Martin Niwataho, during the ongoing nomination exercise at Kabale Municipality Rukiiko Hall.
The incident occurred shortly after Mayor Sentaro’s nomination. His supporters, who had gathered outside the venue to cheer him on, drew the attention of ARDC Niwataho, who accused the mayor of coming with a procession in violation of Electoral Commission guidelines.
Tensions escalated when Niwataho confronted Sentaro while he was addressing journalists. A verbal exchange ensued, with Niwataho insisting that the gathering of supporters was illegal. In response, Sentaro denied mobilizing anyone, arguing that those present were Ugandan citizens freely observing the electoral process.
Despite the confrontation, Sentaro reaffirmed his commitment to complete ongoing development projects if re-elected. His pledges include: Rehabilitation of Kigezi College Butobere,Completion of Rugarama and Bugongi roads,Construction of the Kabale Secondary School fence,Upgrading Kamukira Health Centre IV into a mini-hospital
