Rwoya Primary School in Ndere Parish, Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District, is currently in need of 163 million Ugandan shillings for the renovation and completion of school structures. These constructions, initiated by parents, aim to provide sufficient space for the pupils.

Turinawe Julius, the head teacher, emphasized that acquiring the funds would facilitate the completion of five classrooms, offices, a staff room, and a multipurpose hall, thereby enhancing the school’s infrastructure.

Acknowledging the contributions made, including 100 iron sheets from Minister of Security Jim Muhwezi and an additional 105 iron sheets from Rukungiri District Woman MP Medius Kaharata, Julius expressed gratitude.

Vanasio Natuhwera Bagatireyo, the chairperson of Rwamagaya Parish Council, urged parents and stakeholders to intensify their efforts in developing the school, emphasizing the inadequacy of government resources. He highlighted the importance of alumni taking responsibility for maintaining the school, particularly those with government assistance.

Rukungiri District Woman MP, Medius Kaharata, representing Minister Jim Muhwezi at a fundraising event, appealed to parents in Ruhinda Sub County to prioritize and support their children’s education. She voiced concern over the limited representation of Ruhinda Sub County residents in the education sector and encouraged continued support for the government.

Natukunda emphasized the importance of voting for leaders who can effectively bring services closer to the community and urged continued support for the government.

The fundraising event at Rwoya Primary School was led by Fr. Nicholas Atuhe, the assistant parish priest of Rwamagaya Parish, and was attended by Fr. Jeremiah Tumwijukye, the parish priest of Rwengiri Parish, as well as members of the business community including Benerd Mugarura Kaharata and Sarapio Gumisiriza.
