Police in Rukiga District is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 23-year-old man of Rwandan nationality.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman identified the deceased as Kaberuka Sekyerwa
Maate says the deceased who has been working in Kampala wanted to cross back to his home country Rwanda using an ungazetted route where he could have been attacked and killed by unknown assailants as he was about to cross the border.
His body was discovered at around 6:00 PM on 3/8/2022 lying in the bush along the footpath to Rwanda.
Maate says the area parish security officer Justus Bareberaho notified the area police of Kamwezi and the scene was visited morning by a Homicide team from RUKIGA Central Police station,
The body was taken to Kamwezi Healthy center 4 mortuary for postmortem and Rwandan authorities were accordingly informed.
He says Inquiries are at hand and no suspect has been arrested yet.
