Rwabihurwa Primary School in Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District received a major boost on Sunday, 15th June 2025, during a fundraising event aimed at completing a seven-classroom block and constructing staff quarters.
The event, which attracted leaders, politicians, clergy, and community members, was marked by a strong call for voters to support leaders with proven records of service delivery. Rubabo County Member of Parliament aspirant David Tushabomwe Ndindi emphasized the importance of electing leaders with a history of quality service and expressed confidence in the upcoming elections.
Former Uganda Investment Authority Chairman Morrison Rwakakamba encouraged the school authorities to focus on restoring the academic excellence once held by the institution, citing the school’s top national performance in 1965 as a benchmark.
Another MP aspirant, Mwesigwa Mathias Rwabugumi, advised voters to prioritize leaders who understand local challenges rather than newcomers with no connection to the area.
Presiding over the service, Rev. Muntrivu NshabaRuhanga, North Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, urged parents to commit to their children’s education, stressing the need to raise a generation with integrity.
The head teacher, Gloria Natamba, appreciated the overwhelming parental support and pledged to restore the school’s past glory through hard work and unity.
The event raised over UGX 7.3 million, 173 bags of cement, two trips of sand, iron sheets, and bricks. David Ndindi contributed UGX 1 million, among other items. The contributions are expected to significantly accelerate the school’s infrastructure development and improve learning conditions.
