Parents, guardians, and stakeholders have been urged to prioritize children’s education as a cornerstone for developing responsible citizens who will meaningfully contribute to their families and society.
This call was made during a graduation ceremony for top-class pupils of Rutooma Integrated Primary School, held today at Rutooma Parish, Kabale Diocese. The event was led by Rev. Fr. Posiano Kwitonda, the parish priest.
In his sermon, Rev. Fr. Kwitonda emphasized that quality education, coupled with strict guidance and support from parents, is essential for nurturing children into responsible adults. “Parents must prioritize putting their children in school to acquire the right skills and character, preparing them for future challenges. Nursery and primary education are the bedrock of human development and play a crucial role in the total upbringing of children,” he said.
The guest of honor, Tumuhimbise Isaac, congratulated the graduands on their achievements and wished them a bright future. He commended the school for organizing its first-ever graduation ceremony, describing it as a milestone in the institution’s history.
Tumuhimbise highlighted the importance of starting early in life with proper exposure to learning, adding that this sets the foundation for greatness. He encouraged parents to remain steadfast in supporting their children’s education despite economic challenges. “Investing in your children’s education will yield great rewards in the near future,” he assured.
Addressing the gathering, the headteacher, Mr. Bosco Kamugisha, thanked parents, guardians, staff, and pupils for their commitment to excellence. He pledged to continue fostering a conducive environment for teaching and learning. “Your dedication to the children’s welfare is commendable, and I urge you to maintain this momentum,” he said.
PTA Chairman Mr. Baziliyo Busingye applauded the headteacher’s efforts, stating that the school has bridged gaps in early education within the community. He called on residents to offer moral, financial, and material support for the continued progress and development of the school. “This initiative has elevated the standard of early education in our area, and together we can achieve even greater milestones,” he said.
The colorful event underscored the collective effort of the Rutooma community in nurturing the next generation through education.
