Songs of jubilation and shouts of victory in the Main hall filled to capacity was the mood at Rukungiri Technical Institute-Kyamakanda, on 25th September 2022.

This was during a colorful handover ceremony of previous chapel leadership as the new Leadership Team was inaugurated.

The institute Chaplain; Ordinand Benson AMANYA, challenged the new leadership to prepare for their succession as soon as they begin their term of office, adding that a leader without a successor is not a successful leader.

He further called upon the new leadership to lead without discrimination, serve without hesitation and commit without reservation.
Quoting from 2 Timothy 2:2, Amanya reminded leaders that by passing on their experience, exposure and expertize to other reliable leaders, guarantees the continuity of any given society.

He hailed the previous chapel leadership that was led by Arnold Niwahereza who was serving as Guild Chapel Minister, for their outstanding legacy.
The Chief Officiant at the ceremony, Madam Loyce Kemigisha who represented the institution’s Principal, commended the tireless efforts of the outgoing chapel leadership and tasked the new Chapel Committee to set achievable goals and targets, so as to track performance and remain focused.
Rev. Arthur Agaba who was the main Celebrant in the vibrant holy communion Service commended the Prevailing cordial relationship among ALL the Church founded institutions at Kyamakanda hill. Rev. Arthur is apparently serving as chaplain at Kyamakanda secondary school, a neighboring institution to Rukungiri technical institute.

Established in 1985 at the heart of the revival hill-Kyamakanda, Rukungiri technical institute remains an epitome of; skillfulness, creativity, ingenuity, and technology.

Under the leadership of the current Principal; Mr. Robert Bagumisiriza, the institute continues to equip learners with relevant practical skills for a competitive job market as well as self-employment.

Resourced with Instructors with fully-fledged workshop facilities, the institute continues to impact generations in technical disciplines such as; Plumbing, machining and fitting, fashion and design, Woodwork Technology, Automotive Mechanics, Electronics Technology, building Construction, Electrical installation systems, and maintenance.

Apparently, preparations are in high gear for a grand graduation for all products of Rukungiri Technical Institute since the year 1987 up to 2020. This will take place on Friday 11th November 2022 at the Institution premises and registration is ongoing at the Deputy Principal’s office.
