Scouts of Rukungiri District are fundraising for 500 million shillings to construct a multipurpose hall at Marumba camping site to host Scouts and public activities.
This was today, Saturday, 19th April, 2025, expressed by Bamukunda Patrick Katukura at the handover ceremony of the expired District Scouts Executive to the newly elected Executive at the Marumba camping site in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.
During the ceremony, Bamukunda Patrick Katukura, the outgoing District Scouts Commissioner, successfully handed over to Enoth Akankwatsa Kayanda, the incoming District Scouts Commissioner.
Bamukunda Patrick Katukura reiterated the recent groundbreaking and donation of 115 bags of cement from well-wishers and expressed optimism to mobilize funds and complete the construction by July 2025.
Tushemerirwe Getrude, the vice chairperson of the Rukungiri District Scouts Council, delivered appreciation from the education department for the remarkable contribution of Scouts activities in justifying the new curriculum with self-esteem to excel.
Denis Akatukunda, the newly elected District Executive Commissioner, urged the public to support the development of Scouts in the District.
Enoth Akankwatsa Kayanda, the newly elected District Scouts Commissioner, emphasized devotion for the successful construction of the multipurpose hall to host both Scouts and government programs, such as elections, and urged the public to give back to Scouts for the charity work they offer to the public, especially the vulnerable.
