Heads of primary schools in Rukungiri District have commended parents and a disciplined new generation of learners for the improved performance registered in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
At Nyakibale Upper Boarding Primary School in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, the school recorded an impressive performance, with 63 pupils attaining First Grade and 84 obtaining Second Grade. The head teacher, Bruno Mugisha, attributed the success to strong parental support and disciplined learners, and encouraged parents to carefully select secondary schools to sustain the learners’ academic progress.
Kyamakanda Central Primary School in Buyanja Town Council also posted encouraging results, with 29 pupils attaining First Grade and 36 achieving Second Grade. Head teacher Justus Kakungwe credited the performance to committed parents and support from well-wishers who contributed to the learners’ welfare and learning environment.
Similarly, Nyakibale Parents Primary School in Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, registered strong results as 52 in first grade and 3 in second grade. Head teacher Musimenta John praised parents for their continued support and applauded learners for maintaining discipline, urging pupils to sustain the same positive attitude as they advance to higher levels of education.
At Rukungiri Modern Primary School in Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, 44 pupils passed in First Grade while 12 obtained Second Grade. Teacher Mubangizi Methodias attributed the improved performance to a conducive learning environment and disciplined students, noting that the results met the school’s expectations.
Education stakeholders in the district say the 2025 PLE results reflect growing collaboration between schools and parents, a factor they believe will continue to strengthen academic standards in Rukungiri District.
