Muslims in Rukungiri have been challenged to start up Moslem schools at their respective mosques which will help them to train youth in the Islamic faith.
This was part of the remarks made by Yahaya Tuesday the Rukungiri district Muslims Education coordinator while addressing Muslims of Kabare mosque in Ruhinda Sub-county Rukungiri district during the district Muslim Khazi familiarization tour on Friday.
He added that Muslims should use part of the little land they have to build schools like other religions because this helps them to teach their children more knowledge about their religion.
A new Kabale mosque committee was sworn in and asked to be united and cooperative for the five years they will be serving on the committee as stipulated in the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council constitution.
Hajji Abdullah Bananuka the Rukungiri district Muslim chairperson asked the committee members to desist from any act that is against their religion like alcoholism among others.
Isma Mugabe the speaker of Ruhinda Sub-county who was also sworn in as Kabale mosque committee chairperson thanked the district Muslim Kadhi for considering their mosque because they had never hosted him in their life.
He added that as Kabale mosque, they are looking forward to starting up a school that helps their children to get more knowledge about Islam.
The Rukungiri district Muslim Kadhi Sheikh Abdul Malik Byaruhanga Kayole appreciated Moslems of Kabale for being hard-working and cooperative although they are few.
He also asked the new sworn-in committee to work hand in hand with their Imam for the development of their mosque.
