On 11thFebruary  2023 Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC)gazette today  Friday 24th February 2023 as the day for all mosques to express their disagreement with homosexuality, a vice, they say, has reared its ugly head targeting, especially young people.

The UMSC call came after the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) issued a statement, expressing concern about the increasing promotion of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) agenda in the country.

The deputy Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Warsaw, emphasized that the main aim of the demonstration is to create awareness as well as reinforcing the role of religious leaders in this fight, following a decision of the Church of Uganda to break away from the Church of England that endorsed same sex relations.
