The bishop of North Kigezi diocese Rt Rev Onesimus Asiimwe yesterday evening received a delegation from the Rukungiri Muslim community led by the Rukungiri district Kadh Sheikh AbdulMalik Kayole Byaruhanga at his home in Kinyasano
The members of the Muslim community welcomed and congratulated him upon his election as bishop of North Kigezi diocese.
Bishop Asiimwe welcomed the team and pledged to work together with all religious leaders in Rukungiri as they serve God’s people.

He called for unity and cooperation for the development of places of worship without discrimination.
He gave the analogy of a patient in need of blood whose need transcends religious beliefs and race.
The Rukungiri district Kadh Sheikh Abdul Malik Kayole Byaruhanga who was accompanied by his wife and the Rukungiri district Muslim council chairperson Haji Abdallah Bananuka said they paid a courtesy call on the bishop based on the Quran which says that God allows them to cooperate with all religions for peace and unity.
He thanked the bishop for welcoming them, and to cooperate with him for the development of Rukungiri.
