Rukungiri district on Saturday held its belated Labor Day celebrations at Kagashe playground in Eastern ward Rukungiri municipality with Hon Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa the Rukungiri Municiplaity MP who represented the minister of security Hon Jim Muhwezi as guest of honor expressed disappointment over the absence of a section Rukungiri civil servants at the function
He was unhappy to note that out of two thousand civil servants in Rukungiri district, only three-quarters happened to attend the function.
Mr Rutahigwa called on civil servants to shun corruption which he said is undermining the development of the district and the country at large
In his remarks, the chairperson Lc5 Rukungiri district Geoffrey Kyomukama congratulated all civil servants in Rukungiri and Uganda at large saying that though the national celebrations were held on 1st May, The leadership in Rukungiri thought ideal to organize and celebrate the day.
He urged all civil servants in Rukungiri to work hard and with passion for better service delivery.
Mr. Kyomukama also warned workers both in the public and private sector against the creeping vice of homosexuality.
