Mr. Geoffrey Kyomukama, the Chairperson LC5 of Rukungiri District, has urged footballers to uphold discipline as a key factor in unlocking various opportunities during and after their studies.
Speaking today, Thursday, 6th March 2025, at different football pitches across Rukungiri District during the ongoing Rukungiri District Boys’ Secondary School Football Games 2025, Kyomukama emphasized that discipline plays a crucial role in advancing skills and talents, securing scholarships, gaining recognition, and even achieving international exposure. While delivering his message, he distributed a box of glucose powder to each team to support the players’ refreshments.
Dan Ahimbisibwe Bahamire, the Chairperson of the Rukungiri District Sports Committee, commended the participation of students within the appropriate age categories and appreciated Kyomukama’s support, particularly towards disadvantaged schools. He also called on well-wishers to invest in sports to enhance quality performance.
Sabiiti Erick, the Head Teacher of Rwabukoba Secondary School, expressed gratitude for Kyomukama’s gesture, noting that it had boosted players’ enthusiasm, demonstrated support for sports, and inspired students to embrace discipline by learning from notable public figures.
Tuhame Atwebembire, the team captain of Kyatoko Hillside High School, welcomed the support, highlighting the importance of glucose in energizing the body. He also acknowledged Kyomukama’s words of encouragement, stressing the need for players to uphold discipline and heed their coaches’ guidance for improved performance.
