The Contractor of the Kanungu – Rukungiri road, China Henan International Construction Company Ltd (CHICO) on Tuesday officially handed over renovated feeder roads in Bihoborwa and Nyakatunguru wards to the Kihihi town council Authorities.
CHICO company started renovating the roads following complaints that were raised by the Kihihi town council councilors and residents who alleged that the CHICO company trucks had damaged their community roads while collecting construction materials like Marum.
Some of the roads that were handed over are Ahakatoma – Bihomborwa to St Francis Nursery and Primary School, Omukyigooma -Seneti road in Bihoborwa ward, Omukarounda – Nchunda road and Kabuga – Bushere road, among others
Sostine Buregyeya, the mayor Kihihi town council thanked the Contractor for renovating their roads which were in a sorry state.
He commended them for their positive response towards fulfilling their pledge
Rogers Tumwesigye the Kihihi town council district councilor said it would be good if all feeder roads that were used by their trucks are worked upon so that residents can use them when they are in a good shape since CHICO has finished construction work in these places.
The roads were first inspected by the Kanungu resident district commissioner Ambrose Amanyire, Chico team and Kihihi town council leadership among others before the handover ceremony that took place at Kihihi town council headquarters.
