Rukungiri Businessman Maanige Wenceslas is slated to make his rally debut as seeks to bring back the Memories of Rally aces from western Uganda that include Pole-pole, Charles Muhangi, in the Kigezi Boona Motor rally that will take place in Rukungiri early December.
The businessman who has been seen trying out a newly acquired Subaru Impreza rally car one of the most powerful Rally machines in the country, has promised a spectacular show as he hopes to upset some of the big names in the Sport.
Rally Drivers from Uganda and across the region will grace the FMU organized event that will bring Action to Rukungiri district in Kigezi region for the first time in over 30 years
The Subaru machine, that Mr Maanige has acquired is raising eyebrows among the rally fraternity as it features the latest technology in the sport
While speaking to Our reporter, the businessman who looked upbeat said the Event slated for the 9th and 10th of December, is not only meant to entertain residents and rekindle the regions interest in the fast-paced sport but it also opens up countless business opportunities for the region.
He called on players in the hospitality sector to take advantage of this event by showcasing the business and tourism potential the region has.
Mr Maanige will be navigated by Rukungiri’s Beauty queen Desire Rhona, who is also taking her first steps in the sport.
The Boona-Kigezi rally is slated to be an annual event as the organizers intimated to our reporter that negotiations are ongoing to have the event as permanent fixture in the FMU calendar.
The event will be crowned with a musical extravaganza at Rukungiri stadium which will feature a host of artists with national acclaim.
