The Bishop of the diocese of Kinkizi Rt Rev Dan Zoreka has lauded the deputy speaker of parliament Thomas Tayebwa for standing firm against homosexuality.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 61st session of the Organization of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States Parliamentary Assembly in Maputo City, Mozambique, Deputy Speaker of Uganda’s parliament Thomas Tayebwa noted that African countries should not be coerced into accepting homosexuality that is against the cultural and societal setting of the countries in exchange for aid.
Now officially opening a two days diocesan planning workshop at Holy cross guest house Nyakatare, Bishop Dan Zoreka said as Africans we have morals and values we stand for , so these should not be eroded by the self seeking whites.
He implored those that had gathered for the planning workshop to plan and find all the necessary ways for church to be self sustaining other waiting for support from the west who have their own agenda.
Bishop Dan zoreka said his office is investigating one of the big schools in kanungu where some homosexuals are recruiting and luring the youth to join them in exchange for huge sums of money.
He further said as bishops from Africa, they will be meeting in Kigali Rwanda next year under their umbrella GAFCON to make resolutions about the mission partners who have already supported homosexuality.
He also revealed that the diocese will, starting next year open a men’s ministry office to coordinate all men in the diocese and bring them on board saying many men are no longer participating in church activities.
