The Rukiga District Resident Commissioner, Zadock Kamusiime, has issued a stern warning to local council leaders who are threatening residents over their choice of parliamentary candidates.
Speaking yesterday during his closing remarks at the Rukiga District Consultative Budget Conference held at the District Rukiiko Hall, Kamusiime addressed concerns raised following a viral video on social media. The video shows Rwamucucu Sub-County LC3 Chairman, Eddy Mugisha, threatening residents to support Rukiga Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Kamusiime Caroline.
Kamusiime criticized LC3 chairpersons for neglecting their duties and instead engaging in political campaigning for parliamentary aspirants. He stressed that security agencies will not tolerate any form of political hooliganism from local leaders.
Additionally, Kamusiime called on LC3 chairpersons to strengthen security measures as the festive season approaches. He also issued a warning to non-governmental organizations, advising them against engaging in political activities or undermining the government.
