Residents of Rubanda West County in Rubanda District have expressed high expectations from their newly elected leaders, urging immediate action on electricity projects, education, health facilities, and road improvements.

In Greater Bufundi Subcounty, Kacereere Town Council residents celebrated the election of Bruce Baraba Kabaasa as their Member of Parliament, calling on him to expedite electricity extension projects. Many areas still have bare poles without wires or transformers, limiting both residential and business activities.

Mr. Mbabazi Jefry, LC1 Chairperson for Nyamatembe Cell in Kacereere Town Council, emphasized that as a newly established town council with limited funding, there is an urgent need for investment in health facilities, schools, and roads. He urged the MP to prioritize straightforward electricity projects immediately after taking office.

Echoing this, Kacereere Town Council Mayor, Mr. Mugambagye Eliab, called for follow-ups on road funding allocations for newly established town councils. Highlighting high youth unemployment, he stressed that reliable electricity in every cell could stimulate self-employment and paid job opportunities, boosting household incomes. He also commended Rubanda East MP Hon. Min. Ariganyira Musasizi for his support across Rubanda Subcounty and urged him to continue overseeing budgeted district projects expected to start in July.

In Muko Subcounty, residents led by Mr. Joseph Byomugabe of Kyenyi Parish raised concerns over deteriorating roads, impassable bridges, and poor school and health center facilities. They warned that these challenges have severely affected social-economic development and human well-being. Residents called on new leaders to avoid past mistakes, prioritize essential road works, support school renovations, and strengthen health centers to promote education and community welfare.

Residents expressed hope that the newly elected leadership will translate their promises into concrete actions, addressing long-standing service delivery gaps across Rubanda West County.
