Rubanda District authorities have initiated the construction of an Administration Office Block worth Ugx.100 million in Hamurwa Town Council.
The launch, which took place yesterday, was overseen by Rubanda District Deputy RDC, Eric Ssewandigi, accompanied by Rubanda District LC.5 Chairman, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, and other district officials, at Hamurwa Town Council Headquarters.
According to Justus Ampeire, Principal Assistant Town Clerk, the second floor of the Hamurwa T.C Block will be constructed with Shs.100 million secured from the Central Government through lobbying efforts by Rubanda East MP and State Minister of Finance, Henry Musasizi Ariganyira.
Rubanda District Engineer, John Habimana, revealed that Rubanda General Contractors Limited has been awarded the construction contract. The project involves framing, block work, ring beam, roofing, plastering, installation of doors and windows, with an expected completion time of four months.
Rubanda District Chairman, Kasyaba, cautioned the contractor against delivering substandard work and urged the Director, Robert Tweteise, to maintain the district’s trust in him.
In her speech, Hamurwa Female LC.5 Councilor, Mary Bebwajuba, expressed gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for appointing Henry Musasizi as State Minister for Finance. She highlighted his efforts in securing funds for development projects across the district.
Meanwhile, Rubanda District Deputy RDC, Eric Ssewandigi, underscored the importance of ensuring quality workmanship and pledged to conduct regular monitoring and supervision to ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
