Robert Baguma Tweyambe Darius, a teacher at Kinyasano Girls High School in the Western Division of Rukungiri Municipality and a prominent politician with the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in Rukungiri District, has retired from his teaching career.

Darius began teaching at Kinyasano Girls High School in 1996. He faced political persecution and was charged with capital offenses, including treason, possession of illegal firearms, and murder, which he was ultimately acquitted of.

In 2019, Darius contested his dismissal from his position following his arrest and was reinstated on January 10, 2022. He applied for early retirement on August 8, 2023, and received clearance on July 18, 2023.

Allen Kiyasimire, the Headmistress of Kinyasano Girls High School, bid farewell to Darius, praising him as a dedicated and passionate teacher.

Darius Tweyambe expressed his appreciation for the support he received from the school management, including the Board led by Bishop Rt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe, the Headmistress, staff, and students. He noted that he found Kinyasano Girls High School in excellent condition and left it in the same state.

He attributed his early retirement to a desire to make way for new talent and to address remuneration imbalances, which he noted have created disparities among teachers with similar qualifications, affecting their cooperation and morale.
