Christians are urged to thank God before asking for more, according to Reverend Benon Mbahita, the priest of Bushere church of Uganda parish in Kibimbiri Parish, Kihihi Sub-county, Kanungu District.

Rev. Mbahita made this call during a thanksgiving ceremony for Patience Niwagaba, the Senior Warden of the church. He emphasized that while many people find it easy to ask the Lord for more and often regret not having more possessions, they frequently forget to thank God for the achievements and long journeys they have already made.

During the ceremony, numerous Christians brought various goods and money to support the fundraising effort for the construction of a lay leader’s house. Yaweri Nshabomwe, the lay leader of the church, expressed his gratitude to the Christians who have respected him and contributed a total of 3.3 million shillings to initiate the construction of a new house.

Bushere Church, situated along the Rukungiri-Kihihi-Kanungu tarmac road, is known for its impressive construction, funded by compensation for the tarmac passway. Despite its grand appearance, the church faces the challenge of not having a lay leader’s house that matches its standards.

Mbaga Vincent, representing the guest of honor Mukuru Wekyanga, encouraged Christians to invest in growing vegetables, noting that they are profitable and require little capital. He advised acquiring skills and using good varieties for successful cultivation. Recommended vegetables include doodo, green pepper, cabbages, onions, ginger, eggplant varieties, carrots, sukuma wiki, and others.
