Rev. Nshaba Ruhanga Montrivu, the North Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, has urged students to rely on education for a brighter future and part ways with destructive earthly attractions.

He made the call today, Monday, 21st April 2025, while administering the oath of allegiance to Senior One and Five students and officiating at the awards ceremony for best performers in the 2024 UCE and UACE at Kashenyi Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District.

A total of 170 Senior Five and 230 Senior One students took the oath of allegiance, while six Senior Four and three Senior Six leavers were awarded mattresses as a token of appreciation.

Rev. Nshaba Ruhanga Montrivu implored students to focus on their studies for a successful future and avoid destructive earthly attractions, including alcohol and early sex, which are harmful.

Retired Rev. Geoffrey Mutabazi, the chairperson of the School Management Committee, acknowledged the conducive learning environment at Kashenyi Secondary School, condemned early sex among students, and advocated for abstinence until official marriage after studies.

Mr. Davis Mutabanura, the chairperson of the PTA, implored parents to trust local schools for quality education and refrain from extortionate expenses by seeking distant schools with similar services, and urged parents to stop relying entirely on the government and take responsibility for their children, noting that government support is limited.
