Residents of Nyeibingo Parish, Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District have expressed dissatisfaction over the impassable state of the Kanyeganyegye–Omuribiri–Seed School–Ahamuyanja road, estimated at 6.5 km, which is maintained by the District.

They voiced their dissatisfaction today, 6th November 2025, during communal work organized by Frank Mabwa, the aspiring candidate and NRM flag bearer for Chairperson LC3 of Kebisoni Sub County, to rehabilitate the Nyeibingo road spanning from Katenga Cell via Kebisoni Seed School up to Ahamuhambo junction.

Frank Mabwa, the Area Councilor and Vice Chairperson LC3 of Kebisoni Sub County, commended the locals for exhibiting patriotism by voluntarily supporting communal work. He attributed the swift road damages to the destruction of drainage channels and advocated for continuous maintenance to secure roads since the Sub County cannot manage regular maintenance due to machinery shortages and insufficient funds.

Sylivia Kyarikunda and Sandura Owembabazi, both middle-aged women, expressed gratitude for the rehabilitation of the road, acknowledging that its poor state had caused fatigue, complications for pregnant women, high transport fares, and risked students’ safety due to sharp potholes.

Katungi Christopher and Caleb Ntaburitaba decried the injuries sustained along the Kanyeganyegye potholes and the high transport fares as a result of trekking long distances via Kiborogota to access Kebisoni Town Council for service delivery.

Frank Mabwa, the aspiring candidate and NRM flag bearer for Chairperson LC3 of Kebisoni Sub County, echoed the call to the District authorities to work on the Kanyeganyegye–Omuribiri–Kebisoni Seed School–Ahamuyanja road to improve transport and communication in the area.

Engineer Julius Bagira Byakurema, the District Civil Engineer, clarified that funds have been secured for the same road, with works scheduled to begin next week.
